Kubashni Perumal
I am Kubashni Perumal and this is my MS Story. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2008, when my right eye started squinting and my legs became like jelly. It was then that I underwent a series of tests that confirmed MS. I am now 24 years old, and my first symptoms started at age 12. I experienced blackouts and sudden attacks of depression, for which I was treated and thought that I was going to be ok.
I used to be a free spirit, always adventurous, never afraid to try new things, and loved having fun. After years living with MS I have become reserved, very sensitive, and do not partake in any activities as I do not want to be a burden on anybody.
Before my diagnosis I wanted to study Medicine, as I felt that was a way of helping people. Unfortunately because of MS I have not been able to work at all, and it breaks my heart to sometimes think how different my life could have been, had it not been for MS.
I am very fortunate to have a loving family who supports me, especially my Mother who helps me with everything I need. I also met my soul mate 4 years ago, and he loves me regardless of everything.
As much as people say they understand, one will simply never understand unless you live it. I know that there is a reason for everything happening and I am still hopeful that I will be cured one day. I prefer Natural treatment along with my injections every day. I have gone through many failed diets, and used various vitamins, some that helped but mostly not, but I do believe diet is important in MS and I have learnt not to go overboard.
With all that said, my hope is for everyone to get better and that a cure may be found soon.
